**Clinical Scribe –** **Orthopedic Surgery Specialists** **Clinic – Full-Time, Days** **_Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together_** **Work location:** 2900 1-35 North, Suite 200, Denton, TX 76201 **Work hours:** Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm & Friday, 8:00am – 2:00pm **Orthopedic Surgery Specialists Clinic Highlights:**

**Here’s What You Need**
+ **High School Diploma or equivalent (required)**
+ **Associate’s degree Graduated from a Medical Assistant Program** **(required)**
+ **Orthopedic experience (preferred)**
+ **1-2 Years Scribe experience (strongly preferred)**
+ **Certified Medical Scribe (CMA) 90 Days (required)** **_and_**
+ **Medical Assistant (MA) Upon Hire (required)**
+ Ability to demonstrate proficiency in typing, coding information, and documentation elements
+ Ability to identify mistakes or inconsistencies in medical reports and work with providers to correct.
+ Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
+ Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
+ Good computer skills using a medical management application.
+ Possesses a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
**What You Will Do**
+ Accompany the provider, except where prohibited by a patients request or confidentiality requirement, to accurately record and document patients visits and procedures and signs all documentation placed in the medical record while scribing.
+ Reviews documentation for accuracy and completion in accordance with practice guidelines.
+ Assists in completing charts by transcribing results of any lab, x-ray, or consultation and/or other pertinent data into appropriate data fields as required.
+ Records consultations or discussions with the family and/or any other medical or non-medical specialty service. Records diagnosis, discharge, prescriptions and/or follow-up instructions.
+ Performs other duties as assigned by practice manager or physician.
+ May be asked to function as a Medical Assistant which includes but is not limited to:
+ Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration, and perform routine tests such as EKG's.
+ Document plan of care, tests and examination results.
+ Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol.
+ Keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly.
