Qualifications

  • Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication.
  • Must be able to listen to complex medical information and summarize clearly, completely and concisely.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to refer to reference materials to solve problems.
  • Ability to multitask with high attention to detail and trustworthiness.

Responsibilities

  • Document office visits and procedures in the EMR as performed by the provider.
  • Record patient history, exams, procedures, treatments, education, and diagnoses.
  • Load photos into the EMR as instructed by the clinical team.
  • Schedule reminder appointments and print/deliver documents to patients.
  • Make follow-up calls per providers’ requests and maintain professional interaction with patients.
  • Maintain templates for clinical team and assist in template updates.
  • Adhere to hospital and clinic policies and perform other duties as required.

Overview

Performs clerical electronic medical record functions for a provider in a clinic setting, including primary responsibility for the operation and documentation within the electronic medical record. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the provider. This position does not have direct involvement in patient care.

This is a Full Time, 40hr per week, benefitted position.

DH Offers You:

Employees hired to work at least 0.50 FTE (20 hours per week) and their eligible dependents may participate in Dartmouth Health benefit plans on the employee’s first day of employment.

Medical Insurance: Two medical plans available through Anthem BC/BS: Employees also receive a base employer contribution of 4% of biweekly pay plus a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) that is matched with a Health Savings Account and a PPO Plan that features higher premiums balanced by copays and lower deductibles.

Retirement: Employee contributions arevested immediately. Biweekly matching contribution of 50% on up to 4% of pay saved—for a maximum match of 2% of pay.

Paid Time Off: Paid time off is accrued per pay period based on hours worked. This includes six paid holidays.

Shift Differential: 10% evening, 20% night, and 15% weekend shift differentials when applicable.

Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $3,000 per year.


Responsibilities
  1. Accurately and thoroughly document office visits and procedures as they are being performed by the provider, including but not limited to:
  2. Patient history and physical exam
  3. Procedures and treatments performed by providers and nurses
  4. Patient education and explanations of risks and benefits,
  5. Provider-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up
  6. Takes and loads photos into the EMR, as instructed by the clinical team.
  7. Schedules reminder appointments for patients, as applicable.
  8. Prints and delivers AVS to patients.
  9. Makes follow up calls to check in on patients per providers’ request.
  10. Conducts professional, non-intrusive interaction with patients
  11. Maintains compliance with hospital and clinic policies.
  12. Conducts training for new Clinical Scribes.
  13. Oversees and maintains templates for clinical team, which may involve creating new templates, updating current templates, sharing templates with new staff, etc.
  14. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
