Job summary

Palomar Health in Escondido, CA is seeking a registered nurse for the 12-hour night shift in the 4SW Critical Care unit. You will provide coordinated nursing care for a patient or group, and supervise related clinical activities.

The role requires current CA RN license, BLS, ACLS, and ideally 1–2 years of CCU experience. You will work with the interdisciplinary team, follow standards, and contribute to patient mobility and documentation.

Qualifications

• Current CA RN License required or by endorsement.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers, ACLS preferred.
• 1–2 years in CCU/ICU or related area preferred.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate care with the interprofessional team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for assigned patients in CCU.
• Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary staff on shift.
• Coordinate plan of care with patient, family and interdisciplinary team.
• Observe patient lifts and mobilization; assist as needed.

Coordinates plan of care with the client, their family and the interdisciplinary team. Also responsible for supervising and responsibly directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel, utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Understands and adheres to the California Nurse Practice Act, The American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice for Nursing. The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for the observation and direction of patient lifts and mobilization and shall participate as needed in patient handling. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail).
