Job summary

SmithRx is seeking a Clinical Review Pharmacist to join its clinical team. The role reviews prior authorization requests, supports clinical programs, and provides guidance to providers, pharmacies, and members in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Applicants should hold a PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy, be licensed, and bring at least two years of pharmacy practice experience. Flexibility for after-hours and weekend coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist with valid state license.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy practice experience.
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, metric-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and make timely, evidence-based decisions on prior authorizations and appeals using guidelines and benefit criteria.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal regulations across applicable lines of business.
• Document clinical decisions thoroughly and maintain records per URAC/NCQA standards.
• Provide clear, empathetic support to members, prescribers, and pharmacies; respond to clinical inquiries.
• Stay current with prescribing guidelines and regulatory changes; apply to daily responsibilities.
