Job summary

Barrington James is conducting a confidential Principal Investigator opportunity in the Tampa Bay area for a physician ready to assume a senior role within an established clinical research site. This position offers clinical leadership within a high-performing research organisation backed by infrastructure and regulatory support.

The role requires an MD/DO, active Florida license, and preferably prior PI or Sub-Investigator experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as Principal Investigator across a portfolio of clinical studies.
• Provide medical oversight and ensure participant safety.
• Collaborate with clinical operations to deliver studies to a high standard.
• Support patient recruitment, screening and enrolment activities.
• Maintain compliance with ICH-GCP and study protocols.
• Work with sponsors, CROs and internal teams.
• Contribute to growth of the research site and portfolio.

We are working exclusively on a confidential Principal Investigator opportunity in the Tampa Bay area with one of the largest and most established players in the clinical research site space.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician looking to build on their clinical research experience and take on a senior role within a high-performing research organisation, supported by an established clinical operations and research infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Principal Investigator across a portfolio of clinical research studies.
• Provide medical oversight and ensure the safety and wellbeing of study participants.
• Work closely with clinical research and operations teams to deliver studies to a high standard.
• Support patient recruitment, screening and enrolment activities.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, ICH-GCP and study protocols.
• Work collaboratively with sponsors, CROs and internal research teams.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the research site and clinical trial portfolio.

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MD/DO or equivalent).
• Active medical licence to practice in the Florida.
• Ideally previous clinical research experience as a Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator.
• Strong understanding of clinical research, GCP and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Comfortable working in a full-time, 5-days-per-week onsite position in the Tampa Bay area.
• Passion for clinical research and developing within a large, established research organisation.
