About This Role
The Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for coordinating and overseeing clinical research operations for assigned clinical trials, participating in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating compliant patient care in clinical research trials.

What You'll Do
- Assist the principal investigator in preparing proposed clinical trials by reviewing trial protocols.
- Ensure all protocol revisions, informed consents, and serious adverse events are submitted to the appropriate IRB in a timely manner.
- Act as liaison between principal investigators and sub-investigators on regulatory issues.
- Participate in the review of studies for feasibility and evaluate potential competition with other protocols.
- Recruit and evaluate potential study patients, scheduling required appointments and interviews.
- Review medical records for potential study patients and ensure documentation of all laboratory test results.
- Instruct potential study patients and caregivers on aspects of care, available trials, and treatments.
- Document study patients' medical history per protocol guidelines.
- Perform nursing assessments and monitor study patients' progress during clinical trials.
- Notify principal investigator of any adverse events and report all serious adverse events to the sponsor and IRB.
Requirements
Education
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience or 1 year of clinical nursing experience with an additional 2 years of clinical research experience
Licenses & Certifications
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering position
- National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible
