Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• 1 year RN clinical experience in health care setting.
• 3 years case management, discharge planning or utilization management experience.
• Knowledge of managed care and third party payors reimbursement.
• Proficient with InterQual criteria and mcg criteria.
• Strong interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines; teamwork.
• Effective communication in writing and speaking; documentation in EHR.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting healthcare practices.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and facilities.
• Capable of reviewing denials with Physician Advisor; appeals process.
• Research aspects related to clinical cases for appeals.

Responsibilities

• Collects and documents clinical information from study participants.
• Educates patients regarding research study.
• Obtains informed consent and supports enrollment into clinical trials.
• Interacts with consortium members; organizes meetings; coordinates with participating institutions; tracks progress; schedules meetings; documents minutes.
