Job summary

Clemson is seeking an IEA Research Lab Manager to support NIH-funded projects in Seneca, SC. The role reports to the Site PI and oversees protocol adherence, IRB processes, staff supervision, and data collection across multiple locations including Greenville and Seneca.

The position requires a BS in a related field, phlebotomy experience, and NIH/trial experience preferred. Expect periodic work across sites with varied testing and regulatory duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology, microbiology, biochemistry or a closely related field and relevant experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment.
• Experience in phlebotomy.
• Experience with NIH-funded studies and/or clinical trials (preferred).
• Experience with REDCap and Qualtrics (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Recruits, trains, coordinates, and supervises research staff to implement policies and procedures and successfully carry out study operations.
• Manages and monitors staff to ensure compliance to study protocol and data quality control.
• Coordinates staffing to cover study needs and serves as back up staff, if needed.
• Ensures that psychometric testing is appropriately conducted and scored.
• Oversees randomization procedures and ensures investigators remain blinded.
• Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
• Manages timely adverse event reporting.
• Ensures data site adherence and compliance.
• Monitors progress and provides weekly progress reports.
• Oversees implementation of study protocol or multisite clinical trials under the direction of the PI.
• Maintains IRB approvals, regulatory documents, data forms and study procedures.
• Monitors compliance with federal, state and university regulations.
• Suggests updates to procedures to improve adherence and efficiency.
• Ensures proper documentation and version control for data forms and consent.
• Manages communications for research staff and participants; develops templates and processes.
• Prepares presentations for scientific conferences and assists in publications.
• Drafts program reports for funding agencies or public dissemination.
