Job summary

United Hospital Center, part of WVU Medicine, is seeking a Clinical Research Specialist to coordinate protocols, maintain patient databases, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

You will prepare IRB documents, manage budgets, and liaise with PIs, sponsors, and IRB. Requires RN license or advanced degree, BLS, SoCRA/ACRP certification, and 3 years of clinical experience.

This full-time, on-site role offers a dynamic environment within WVU Health System.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing and RN license or advanced degree in a scientific/healthcare field.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.
• SoCRA or ACRP certification with 3 years in Clinical Research Specialist role.
• Three years of clinical experience.
• Two years of research experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare protocols and amendments for initial IRB submissions with required documents.
• Coordinate subject recruitment and liaise with primary care physicians and nursing staff.
• Prepare Annual Protocol Reviews and Study Summaries for WVU IRB; assist with budgets.
• Coordinate Protocol Review Committee meetings and related study activities.
• Review inclusion/exclusion criteria and consent documents for accuracy.
• Ensure proper informed consent and enrollment procedures.
• Coordinate clinical trial activities including follow-ups and lab data review.
• Provide QA for protocols and explore funding opportunities.
