The study focuses on Evoked Resonant Neural Activity(ERNA), a brain signal elicited by electrical stimulation and recorded directlyfrom the DBS electrode. We record ERNA during DBS implantation surgery andmeasure patients’ motor responses to stimulation at postoperative programming visits. The long-term goal is to make DBS surgery and programming faster and more widely available. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work under the supervision of the PIs (Alan Bush, PhD, and Mark Richardson, MD, PhD), in close collaboration with Todd Herrington, MD, PhD (Director of the MGH Deep Brain Stimulation Program), Pranav Nanda, MD, MPhil (Co-Director, Brain Modulation Lab) and other research scientists, and will routinely interact with patients.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Screen and recruit patients with Parkinson’s disease who are scheduledfor DBS surgery, working with the neurosurgery and neurology clinicalteams, and assist with the informed consent process.
