Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group seeks a Research Associate to support investigator-led and grant-funded studies at the hospital and affiliated sites. You will assist in data collection, documentation, and study coordination to ensure robust, compliant data for conclusions.

Under supervision, you will help with screening, IRB-related submissions, and regulatory adherence, handling administrative tasks and contributing to grant applications as part of a multidisciplinary research team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3 years of research experience or an Associate's degree with 5 years of research experience.
• Experience supporting clinical or academic research projects.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and good clinical practices.

Responsibilities

• Assembles data and performs quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of research findings.
• Assists with subject recruitment, literature gathering, and IRB document submission.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and adheres to Good Clinical Practices for clinical research, maintaining HIPAA and ethical standards.
• Performs administrative and clerical responsibilities requiring analysis and knowledge of study protocols.
• Plans and conducts various activities to support research projects.
• Provides operational and clerical support for project-related activities, including editing reports and assisting with grant applications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Research Associate supports projects initiated and conducted by principal investigator(s) by assisting in grant funded research and/or industry sponsored clinical research conducted on site at the hospital or its affiliated sites. Working under general supervision, this position works closely with principal investors, study coordinators, study participants, and other research professionals to plan, prepare, implement, and conduct research projects to ensure robust and valid data is gathered during studies.

Essential Job Function

• Assembles data and performs quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of research findings, contributing to the validity and credibility of research outcomes and enabling evidence-based decision-making.
• Contributes to early-stage activities for research projects, including subject recruitment, literature gathering, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) document submission, facilitating the smooth initiation and progression of research studies.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and adheres to Good Clinical Practices for clinical research, maintaining Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and ethical standards, safeguarding patient privacy, and ensuring the ethical conduct of research.
• Performs diverse administrative and clerical responsibilities requiring some analysis, judgment and knowledge of specific study protocols, research processes, and applicable regulations.
• Plans, prepares, implements, and conducts various miscellaneous activities to support research projects.
• Provides operational and clerical support for project-related activities, including editing reports, managing expenses, and assisting with grant applications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
