Brown University Health is seeking a Research Assistant under the supervision of Principal Investigators and Clinical Research Coordinators to assist in acquiring and analyzing patient data for multiple clinical studies at Rhode Island Hospital.

Duties include interviewing patients, maintaining study records, data entry, basic statistical analysis, and preparing graphs. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in life sciences and strong attention to detail; on-site hours are M-F 8-5.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in applied or life sciences with coursework in research methodologies.
  • 3-6 months on-the-job experience in a research setting.
  • Knowledge of research methodology theories and techniques.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and maintain records.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates clinical research activities with investigators and study staff.
  • Identifies eligible patients and ensures protocol eligibility.
  • Maintains study records and explains the study to participants to obtain consent.
  • Enters data into databases and supports data quality checks.
  • Performs basic data analyses and creates graphs for results.
  • Assists in planning protocols and reviews literature related to the research.
