Job summary

Augusta University is seeking a Research Assistant to support multiple clinical studies across specialties. The role involves data entry into Excel/Access, managing study documents, and assisting with patient visits and sample handling.

Responsibilities include screening patients in the EMR, coordinating visits, drawing blood when trained, and maintaining study confidentiality. The position may require occasional after-hours work and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or related field.
• Associate's degree with 3+ years in research, basic science or clinical trials experience.

Responsibilities

• Data entry into Microsoft Excel or Access and possible data abstraction from the electronic medical record into an EDC system.
• Administrative tasks: shipping specimens, handling biohazard materials, filing studies.
• Patient study: scheduling visits, measuring vitals, drawing blood when trained.
• Run errands in office, university and hospital; maintain confidentiality.
• Additional duties, including aseptic technique training and possible travel; audit other assistants.
