Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavioral support in an acute hospital environment. Under BCBA supervision, you will implement individualized, evidence-based behavior plans to reduce restrictive interventions and improve access to medically necessary care.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, maintain crisis response competencies, and help patients and families through trauma-informed, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral crisis intervention and prevention services under BCBA supervision.
• Implement individualized, evidence-based behavior support plans to reduce restraints and increase access to care.
• Assist BCBAs in identifying at-risk patients and apply proactive strategies to prevent crises.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and mental health teams during procedures and treatment routines.
• Teach functional communication, coping, and regulation skills to reduce behavioral barriers to care.
