Job Description

Seattle Pacific University seeks faculty candidates who are equally oriented to the liberal arts approach to education (i.e., people concerned equally with solid scholarship in a field and the connections students must make between the various disciplines; people who can see the value of both breadth and depth in undergraduate and graduate education and have a talent for integrating their academic specialty with their Christian faith), and to the applications of such an education in the world of work. The candidates are abreast of developments in their fields and can find their fullest professional development in an institution which places high premium upon effective classroom teaching and mentoring, as well as upon scholarship. They are prepared to teach non‑traditional groups of students and use alternative delivery systems, including new educational technologies, and enjoy the prospect of meeting with students to discuss their educational goals and participate in the planning of a program of studies suited to the needs of the individual student.

About the School of Psychology, Family, and Community

The School of Psychology, Family, and Community at Seattle Pacific University offers faith‑integrated academic programs in Clinical Psychology (PhD), Industrial and Organizational Psychology (MA and PhD), Marriage and Family Therapy (MS), Psychology (BA/BS/MS), and Medical Family Therapy (Professional/post‑graduate). All programs emphasize the integration of practice, theory, research, and professional preparation for psychology‑relevant careers in clinical and organizational contexts.
