Job summary

US Bureau of Prisons in Cumberland, MD seeks a psychologist at the GS-12/13 level to provide clinical psychology services within a federal facility. The role involves psychotherapy with individuals and groups, assessments, and treatment planning.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.
  • License to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia must be on file.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty to the next lower grade level (GS-12/13).
  • Experience in developing, coordinating inpatient therapeutic programming and providing clinical supervision is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy for patients.
  • Conduct clinical interviews, crisis interventions, and psychological assessments; document notes and make treatment recommendations.
  • Develop individualized cognitive behavioral treatment plans/interventions for incarcerated individuals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide clinical and administrative supervision as needed.
  • Document clinical notes and contribute to program evaluation and evidence-based practice.
