Description of Job Duties

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is seeking a full‑time Project Manager to support implementation of the Maternal Produce Prescription Program (MP3), a federally funded initiative focused on improving maternal and infant health outcomes in rural western Oklahoma.

Grant-Funded Role and Impact: This position is grant‑funded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau’s Maternal Produce Prescription Program (MP3). The program is focused on improving maternal and infant health outcomes by increasing access to nutritious foods, nutrition education, and supportive services for pregnant and postpartum individuals in rural and underserved communities.

GRANT POSITIONS are conditional upon continuation of grant funding for the project. In addition, SWOSU policy requires that all employees, whose positions are funded with grant or contract monies, must have their annual leave funded within the grant. SWOSU employees transferring into a grant funded position with SWOSU will be allowed to carry unused accrued sick leave into the grant funded position.

The MP3 Project Manager will serve as the primary operational lead for the program and will work closely with the MP3 Project Director, healthcare providers, public health agencies, community organizations, nutrition professionals, and other partners. This position will coordinate participant enrollment and services, resource navigation, program implementation, data collection, outreach, and grant‑related reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day MP3 grant activities and participant services
  • Recruit, enroll, and follow up with eligible program participants
  • Coordinate produce prescription benefits, nutrition education, and resource navigation
  • Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations
  • Track program participation, outcomes, and required grant data
  • Assist the Project Director with grant reporting, outreach, and program implementation
Key objectives of this grant-supported role include
  • Coordinating participant recruitment, enrollment, follow‑up, and ongoing program services
  • Supporting produce prescription benefits, nutrition education, and connection to healthcare and community resources
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers, public health agencies, and community partners to strengthen maternal health services
  • Collecting and analyzing program data to evaluate participant outcomes and overall program effectiveness
  • Assisting with HRSA reporting, research activities, and the development and dissemination of program findings through reports, presentations, publications, and other professional outlets

Through these efforts, the MP3 Project Manager will help improve maternal and infant health outcomes while contributing to research and evidence surrounding produce prescription programs in rural communities.
