Job summary

Applewood Centers is seeking a Clinical Program Manager to provide clinical management and oversight of client treatment and supervision of program staff. The role collaborates with the Director of Residential Services and the Program Supervisor to coordinate clinical programming.

You will supervise multidis­ciplinary teams, maintain licensing standards, and foster professional relationships with referral sources, families, and external providers.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling required.
  • Valid Ohio Social Work or Professional Counselor license (LSW or LPC) required; LISW or LPCC preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional ethics, documentation standards, and systems-based practice.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements individual treatment plans with measurable goals.
  • Coordinates residential review meetings, clinical rounds, and team meetings.
  • Ensures all documentation meets licensing standards and completes required reports.
  • Leads hiring processes for new staff and participates in on-call crisis management.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Education:Minimum Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling.

  1. Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in clinical diagnosis and assessment. Residential or congregate care experience preferred.
    3-5 years’ experience in mental health field.
    Experience working with children, adolescents, and their families.
AGENCY SUMMARY

Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Program Manager’s primary function is to provide clinical management and oversight of client treatment, programming, and supervision of all activities and program staff. Under the direction of the Director of Residential Services and in collaboration with the Program Supervisor, the Clinical Program Manager takes primary responsibility for supervising, planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementing all clinical aspects of programming. The Clinical Program Manager will function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team; he/she will foster and maintain professional relationships with referral sources, external providers, and family members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Develops and implements individual treatment plans. Ensures treatment goals and objectives are measurable and attainable. Monitors and evaluates milieu programming. Implements strategies to ensure programming is consistent with supporting progress towards treatment goals.
  2. Coordinates and facilitates residential review meetings, clinical rounds, team meetings, and weekly leadership meetings in collaboration with the Program Supervisor.
  3. Ensures all documentation is completed per Agency standards, including monthly reports, quarterly reports, discharge/transfer summaries, treatment plans, and client action forms. Completes MUIs, Incident Reports, and separation/safety plans. Maintains client record in accordance with licensing standards.
  4. Interviews and recommends hiring of job applicants.
  5. Responsible for on-call duties. Responsible for carrying, answering, and maintaining Agency cell phone. Provides 24-hour emergency crisis management/intervention, including coverage assistance as needed.
  6. Participates in the referral process. Collaborates with the Intake Supervisor/Specialist to assess referrals for placement.
  7. Plans, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates family involvement. Manages client phone and visitation lists. Manages client incoming and outgoing mail.
  8. Provides clinical training for program staff.
  9. Ensures that environmental rounds are consistently conducted. Monitors the overall condition of grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment and completes Maintenance requests as needed. Monitors unit to ensure that treatment environment is being maintained in accordance with licensing rules and regulations, including mental health, health, fire safety, etc.
  10. Facilitates weekly team meetings and weekly leadership meetings in collaboration with the Program Supervisor. Participates in Clinical Rounds and client review meetings.
  11. Actively exhibits teamwork and professionalism by example and actions in all areas of management. Develops and maintains collaborative and cooperative professional relationships with all levels of internal staff members, including Residential Services, Health Clinic, Environmental Services, Maintenance, Food Services, Clinical Services, Support, and Agency staff in other Divisions. Works cooperatively with Wingspan Care Group staff.
  12. In collaboration with the Program Supervisor, ensures all client rights and needs are met.
OTHER DUTIES
  1. Attends scheduled staff meetings, supervision, committee meetings, external program meetings, and on-going training.
  2. All required trainings, certifications, and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
  3. Respects the privacy of clients and holds in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment.
  4. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
  5. Maintains high standards of ethical and professional conduct, adheres to Agency policies and procedures, and ensures program staff adhere to the same standards.
  6. Other duties as assigned by management.
