Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Ophthalmology clinic seeks a Medical Assistant to support exam preparation, assist with procedures, and help maintain efficient patient flow. You will assist providers, handle check-in, scheduling, and front desk coordination, ensuring high-quality care and service.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 0–1 year of related experience, basic computer skills, and a relevant certificate or clinical experience.

In a busy Ophthalmology clinic, performs a variety of clinical duties with a strong focus on medical assisting, including preparing patients for examination, assisting with procedures, and supporting providers in delivering high-quality care. Also assists with key administrative tasks such as patient check-in, scheduling, and front desk coordination to ensure efficient practice operations. Delivers exceptional patient service while supporting both clinical and administrative workflows. Reports to the manager with input from assigned physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
Employees in this job must be competent to provide patient care to the following age groups: Young adult: 16-30 years, Middle Age: 30 - 60 years, Elderly: 60 - over.
1. Work requires close attention to task for work to be accurately completed. Intermittent breaks during the work day do not compromise the work.
2. Work routine is fairly consistent, but employee needs to be able to use judgment to respond to events several times a week.

$21.00 - $28.26 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
