Job description

Seeking a Clinical Physicist to provide physics and specialized skills to support radiation therapy patients in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences at Johns Hopkins.

Responsibilities

• Perform and manage procedures independently within the Medical Physics division.
• Make recommendations to the Chief of Medical Physics in the form of decision options.
• Provide divisional information as requested by the department, school, hospital, or external entities.
• Perform clinical duties in all aspects of the current physics practice in the department, including conformal radiotherapy, IMRT, VMAT, IGRT based on kVCBCT, stereotactic radiosurgery/radiotherapy, motion management, brachytherapy, and radiopharmaceutical therapy.
• Perform educational duties including teaching and supervision of students, fellows, physics residents, and medical residents in training and research programs.
• Participate in developmental projects to support the programmatic goals of the department.
• Manage the budget for this service ensuring that allocated funds are being spent appropriately.
• Provide administrative management and decision-making support to the leadership of the Medical Physics Division.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in medical physics or a related field.
• Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Radiology or the American College of Medical Physics.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
