Job summary

Qualifications

• Credentialed graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program and licensed.
• Prior experience in physical therapy preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds with frequent lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Travel within a local area as needed.
• Ability to work indoors with exposure to some disagreeable conditions.
• Communicate effectively with residents, other therapy staff, and facility staff.
• Adhere to safety and company policies including drug-free workplace and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and medical records to determine PT treatment.
• Plan and write treatment programs based on data evaluation.
• Collaborate with physicians and health practitioners to adjust treatment.
• Record patient progress and responses to therapy.
• Assist in planning physical therapy services and budget.
• Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides; may train students.
• Administer manual therapies and supervise exercises to improve function.
• Perform tests and measurements to evaluate progress and adjust plans.
• Instruct and motivate patients in non-manual exercises and ADLs.
• Maintain documentation for third-party reimbursement.
• Attend meetings and participate in department policies and procedures.
