Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in drug preparation, dispensing, and patient service. This is a part-time, up to 19.99 hours per week position with no benefits.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) as a Pharmacy Technician or as a Pharmacist Intern is required. Retail pharmacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) is required, or registered as a Pharmacist Intern with TSBP.
• Retail pharmacy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares unit-dose medications tailored to patient needs including weight, allergies, and age.
• Retrieves and delivers medication orders and supplies.
• Prepares sterile products using aseptic technique per USP 797 standards.
• Assists pharmacists in filling ambulatory prescriptions and maintaining records.
