Job summary

Option Care Health in Hudson, Ohio is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with pharmacy operations and patient care. Job Description Summary

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, assists with ensuring smooth and accurate pharmacy operations in accordance with Option Care Health policies & procedures, and the state's professional standards & regulations.

Job Responsibilities

Prescription & Equipment Preparation and Processing

  • Process prescription refills for drugs, PN/high risk, heparin/saline.
  • Process new drug prescriptions.
  • Counts, pours, & mixes pharmaceuticals.
  • Packages products into appropriate containers and labels containers.
  • Provides training to Clinical Pharmacy Technician I's.

Inventory Maintenance

  • Ensures accurate inventory levels through validation & reporting of received incoming supplies.
  • Develop purchase orders to address shortages.
  • Validate removal of expired supplies/materials.
  • Schedule deliveries.

Patient Support & Experience

  • Collect & maintain patient data & information for assessments.
  • Respond to non-routine patient questions & requests.

Site & Supplies Maintenance

  • Clean & sanitize surfaces and laminar hood flows.
  • Clean & organize supplies.
Supervisory Responsibilities

No — This position does not have supervisory responsibilities such as hiring, approving promotions or pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, or discipline.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Must be licensed or registered (if required by state).
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (e.g., opening a document, cutting, pasting, aligning text, changing font, using find & replace, spell check, printing).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (e.g., opening a workbook, inserting rows, formatting cells as currency, copying & pasting, printing).
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (e.g., inserting/delaying slides, editing text, printing slide show).
Physical Demand Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching.
  • Ability to carry at least 30 lbs.
Travel Requirements

None.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

Previous home health experience. May perform other duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits

Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below. Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay range is $18.20 to $30.32 per hour.
