Job summary

Valley Vital Care is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Technician to own order readiness and coordinate therapy from entry to lab readiness. Under pharmacist supervision, you ensure orders are accurate, documentation is clean, and treatments stay on schedule with nursing and intake teams.

Facilities require lab entry, temperature/humidity monitoring, and inventory control. Successful candidates will have 1–3 years of experience, state registration, and a willingness to advance through levels I–III as

• Pharmacy technician registration with state board.
• CPhT certification preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process medication orders and refills under pharmacist supervision.
• Own lab requests and results needed for dosing and verification.
• Prepare and stage medications and supplies to start treatments on time.
• Monitor and log refrigerator, freezer, and room temperature/humidity.
• Own refill reminders and treatment timing with nursing and patient coordinator.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and flag shortages or recalls.
• Drive prior authorization and shipment coordination as needed.
• Keep records audit ready: logs, expiration checks, and documentation.

Position Summary

The Clinical Pharmacy Technician owns order readiness in the patient journey at Valley Vital Care, moving therapy from order entry and refill coordination to lab and supply readiness. Working under pharmacist supervision, the technician ensures orders are accurate, documentation in CareTend is clean, and therapy stays on schedule — in tight coordination with nursing and intake, and without compromising safety. Clinical Pharmacy Technicians work across three levels (I, II, III), advancing as they demonstrate greater autonomy, certification, and specialty experience.

Each level carries every responsibility of the level below, plus the functions listed. A teammate is placed at the highest level whose essential functions they can perform independently and to standard.

Performs core technician tasks (stocking, expiration checks, lab requests, refill and order coordination) under direct pharmacist supervision.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy technician registration (state board) required
• CPhT certification preferred or in progress
• 0 to 1 year pharmacy experience

Owns the full clinical technician scope independently, including CareTend lab entry and temperature and humidity monitoring, with pharmacist sign off only where required.

Added responsibilities:

• Work the full technician scope independently, with pharmacist sign off only where required.
• Own lab coordination and temperature and humidity monitoring for the site.
• Resolve order and insurance discrepancies without routine escalation.

Qualifications:

• 1 to 3 years pharmacy technician experience
• Proficient in CareTend order entry and lab coordination
• Specialty or infusion experience preferred

Handles complex coordination, leads quality checks, and trains other technicians. Owns a workflow area for the site or market.

Added responsibilities:

• Lead quality checks and resolve complex order or coordination issues.
• Train and check off new technicians; maintain competency records.
• Own a workflow area (inventory, lab coordination, or dispensing) for the site or market.
• Identify recurring operational barriers, recommend improvements, and help standardize best practices.
