The Clinical Pharmacy Technician owns order readiness in the patient journey at Valley Vital Care, moving therapy from order entry and refill coordination to lab and supply readiness. Working under pharmacist supervision, the technician ensures orders are accurate, documentation in CareTend is clean, and therapy stays on schedule — in tight coordination with nursing and intake, and without compromising safety. Clinical Pharmacy Technicians work across three levels (I, II, III), advancing as they demonstrate greater autonomy, certification, and specialty experience.
Each level carries every responsibility of the level below, plus the functions listed. A teammate is placed at the highest level whose essential functions they can perform independently and to standard.
Performs core technician tasks (stocking, expiration checks, lab requests, refill and order coordination) under direct pharmacist supervision.
Owns the full clinical technician scope independently, including CareTend lab entry and temperature and humidity monitoring, with pharmacist sign off only where required.
Handles complex coordination, leads quality checks, and trains other technicians. Owns a workflow area for the site or market.
