Job summary

South Texas Health System Edinburg seeks a clinical pharmacy specialist who will provide expert pharmaceutical care within a specialty and act as a resource for the care team. The role includes supervising Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists and ensuring compliance with all policies and the Code of Conduct.

The candidate should hold a BS or Pharm.D., maintain an appropriate state license, and have residency experience or 3+ years of pharmacy practice; Board Certification is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or Pharm.D. from a School of Pharmacy
• Current license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
• Completion of a general 1-year pharmacy residency, specialty residency, and/or fellowship or at least 3 years of pharmacy experience is strongly preferred
• Certification by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates expertise in a clinical pharmacy service line or specialty
• Serves as a resource for pharmaceutical care to patients within that specialty
• Supervises Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists
• Ensures compliance with policies and Code of Conduct and participates in required trainings
