Job summary

Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL seeks a licensed pharmacist to provide quality pharmaceutical care by monitoring patient medication therapy and assisting in the development of a clinical pharmacy program.

The pharmacist will recommend appropriate drug therapy, serve as an educational resource to patients and health care professionals, and use a pharmacy computer system to enter orders, dispense medications and IV solutions while supervising technical staff.

Qualifications

• Education required from accredited School of Pharmacy; ASHP accredited residency (PGY-1) or BCPS eligibility.
• Health system experience preferred but not required.
• Current licensure in the State of Alabama, controlled substances permit, parenteral license, preceptor license (when eligible), BCLS provider (ACLS preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide quality pharmaceutical care by monitoring patients’ medication therapy.
• Assist in developing a clinical pharmacy program and recommend appropriate drug therapy.
• Serve as an educational resource to patients and health care professionals.
