Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a hospital-based clinical pharmacist who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to exceptional patient care. You will support safe, effective drug therapy and contribute to interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include preparing and dispensing orders, monitoring regimens for safety and efficacy, supervising support staff, and participating in formulary management and cost-conscious initiatives.

Qualifications

• A detail-oriented, collaborative professional who demonstrates courtesy, caring, and respect for patients, families, and colleagues.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hospital-based clinical pharmacy program.
• PharmD required.
• Current Louisiana pharmacist license; strong knowledge of pharmacodynamics, clinical pharmacy practices, and regulatory compliance.

• Promote pharmacodynamics of patient care and assist the clinical coordinator in econotherapeutics activities.
• Prepare and dispense drug orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Monitor drug therapy regimens for safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness; provide clinical consultation and suggest therapeutic alternatives.
• Supervise pharmacy support personnel and ensure timely, accurate pharmacy services.
• Promote optimal drug utilization through rounding, education, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings, formulary management, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain competency through ongoing education, licensure, and skills assessment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
