Baystate Health seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to lead comprehensive pharmaceutical care and education initiatives within the Baystate Medical Center system. You will participate in rounds, optimize formulary use, and mentor APPE students and residents, while supporting research and evidence-based drug therapies.
The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with prescribers, nurses, and pharmacists, and advancement of patient care through education and clinical practice guidelines.
Summary: Through the leadership of the BH Pharmacy Manager of Clinical Programs, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is primarily responsible for leading and providing comprehensive and collaborative pharmaceutical care and supporting the pharmacy education programs. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist is also expected to serve as a leader among their colleagues, supporting workflow and education as appropriate. The major job responsibilities include identification, resolution, and prevention of drug-related problems, drug distribution support, order verification, and oversight of medication use protocols and/or restrictions. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist supports and leads clinical pharmacy and medication management initiatives, serves as the pharmacy representative on committees as appropriate, participates in research, and contributes to the advancement of knowledge through the teaching and education of Pharmacy students, Pharmacy residents, and Pharmacy staff, as well as Nursing staff and Prescriber staff both internally and externally. In addition, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist serves as a preceptor for APPE students and pharmacy residents. Responsibilities include program/syllabus development and maintenance to achieve program goals and provision of sound academic and clinical training for students and residents.
The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees. Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum $130,977.00 - $150,550.00 - $178,048.00
