Job summary

HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist PRN to provide clinical pharmacy services across patient areas. You will review orders, ensure safe dispensing, and support narcotics control while collaborating with physicians and the care team.

The role requires a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, Florida licensure or eligibility, and NA PLEX eligibility, with preferred acute-care hospital experience. Join a large network focused on compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or PharmD degree in Pharmacy from College of Pharmacy.
  • Experience as a pharmacist in an acute-care hospital setting or general pharmacy practice residency preferred.
  • Current FL Pharmacist license or license eligible; NA RPLEX eligibility.
  • Eligible to sit for North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX).
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions; PC skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy support and execute programs for all patient areas.
  • Review medication orders for appropriateness of drugs, dosage, route and interactions; adjust doses as needed.
  • Ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age.
  • Monitor narcotic transactions and reconcile dispensed narcotics.
  • Assist with physician consults and retrieve reliable drug information; communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. As our pharmacist you would provide clinical pharmacy services for all patients and ensure the safe procurement, preparation, labelling, distribution and control of all medications. What you will do in this role:
  • You will coordinate and assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure clinical services meet the requirements and needs of the patient population and community.
  • You will provide clinical pharmacy support and execute clinical pharmacy programs for all patient areas.
  • You will review medication orders and quality of technicians work to ensure appropriateness of drugs ordered, dosage, route and interactions. Adjust medications dosage/schedule as appropriate for patient condition as per policy.
  • You will ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age.
  • You will closely monitor narcotic transactions by checking all controlled substances that are dispensed and reconcile the quantity/type of narcotics leaving the pharmacy.
  • You will assist the department in addressing physician consult as needed. Provide timely retrieval of reliable drug information from available sources.
  • You will communicate effectively and work with physicians and/or other members of the interdisciplinary team in meeting patient needs.
What qualifications you will need:
