Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist PRN to support patient care across the hospital pharmacy. You will interpret orders, dispense medications, and provide medication information to staff and patients, contributing to safe, effective therapy.

This role emphasizes collaboration with the care team in a busy acute-care setting. The successful candidate will hold a PharmD or B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy is required.
• One year of hospital experience is required.
• Residency training or board certification is preferred.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required.
• ACPE IV certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately into the pharmacy system.
• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
• Sustain the hospital formulary and promote rational drug therapy selection.
• Provide medication information to healthcare staff and patients.
• Provide basic technical support for automated dispensing machines and other pharmacy systems.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What You Will Do In This Role:

• You will interpret orders and transcribes or verifies them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.

• You will accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.

• You will sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing non-formulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promotes rational drug therapy selection

• You will provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.

• You will provide basic technical support for automated dispensing machines and other pharmacy computer systems.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy is required.

• One year of hospital experience is required.

• Residency training or board certification is preferred.

• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required.

• TSBP is required.

• ACPE IV certification is required.
