Job summary

Jackson Health System seeks a Clinical Practice Pharmacist for a part-time position with benefits in the IP & Infusion Pharmacy Services. The role focuses on compounding, dispensing complex medications, and supervising pharmacists not registered within the state, within a large hospital pharmacy department.

The candidate will evaluate orders, monitor therapies, conduct drug utilization reviews, and provide education to staff and students in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations with professional composure.
• Ability to follow instructions and exercise independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Integrate drug distribution and clinical pharmacy services to ensure safety, efficacy, and cost reduction.
• Evaluate physicians' orders, prescriptions, vouchers, and cart fill lists for therapy appropriateness considering drug interactions and patient conditions.
• Assist in data collection for drug utilization evaluations.
• Provide drug therapy monitoring and intervention through target drug programs.
• Serve as a role model and educator for pharmacy students and residents.
• Participate in teaching sessions and provide in-services to nursing and other health care professionals.
• Provide therapeutic drug level monitoring and report adverse drug reactions.

Education

Pharm.D. degree or B.S. with equivalent clinical knowledge
