Job summary

Walgreens Co. is seeking a Pharmacist to provide empathetic consulting on medications and drug interactions while delivering immunizations, testing, and patient outcomes services.

You will ensure accurate dispensing, review, and compliance with regulatory guidelines within a high-volume pharmacy workflow. Responsibilities include counseling patients, performing drug therapy reviews, managing inventory, and leading pharmacy staff to enhance the patient experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Internal candidates: average leadership score 3.0+ and no disciplinary actions in last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients by greeting them and assisting with products and services to ensure a positive experience.
• Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and OTC options; refer to medical providers as needed.
• Perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensure pharmacy operations comply with regulations and company policies; oversee staff scheduling and duties.
• Support IT systems, inventory management, and productivity improvements.
• Process insurance claims and resolve issues with payors and providers.
