Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a licensed pharmacist to ensure safe, effective drug therapy within a multidisciplinary team. You will review physician orders, prepare and dispense medications, educate patients, and monitor therapy to optimize outcomes.

Strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and computer proficiency are essential. The role requires a current state license and a Pharm.D. degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
• Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates physician orders based on clinical assessment including allergies, age, renal function, concomitant drug therapy, labs, dosing guidelines, protocols, diagnosis, and status.
• Assures safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications including sterile products and investigational drugs.
• Manages drug therapy to optimize patient outcomes with documentation of interventions, ADR assessment, and patient education.
• Maintains licensures and continuing education.
• Manages pharmacy operations in compliance with regulations.
