Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with Pharmacist degree.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current state license in good standing; BCLS certification.
• Experience: Minimum of three months in pharmacy; knowledge of OSHA, JCAHO, HCFA and state guidelines; experience in facilitating teams; experience in writing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies per physician prescriptions.
• Supervises the technical support staff and directs pharmacy personnel.
• Provides drug information and guidance to hospital personnel and medical staff.
• Interprets medication orders and ensures safe, appropriate therapy for adult and geriatric patients.
• Maintains security of the pharmacy and controlled substances; ensures logs and temperature/ cleanliness compliance.
