Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks an experienced Clinical Pharmacist for Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights. This inpatient role combines clinical pharmacy on nursing units with operational dispensing from the main pharmacy, delivering patient education and supporting research initiatives.

Responsibilities include participation in codes and stroke alerts, with shifts from 7:00am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm and occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross; immunizations certification within 90 days.
• ACLS and/or PALS certification through AHA or Red Cross; for cardiopulmonary arrest respond within one year of hire.

As a Clinical Pharmacist, a caregiver in this role will provide primarily decentralized clinical pharmacy services to general inpatient populations. Working as part of a team of approximately 36 caregivers, this role combines clinical responsibilities on nursing units with operational dispensing from the main pharmacy. The caregiver will provide patient education, participate in residency program support and have opportunities to contribute to research initiatives. Responsibilities also include occasional centralized pharmacy coverage. The caregiver will also respond to codes and stroke alerts, collaborating with the care team to support safe, effective and timely medication management.

A caregiver in this role will work 7:00am to 3:30pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm. Occasional evening shifts will be 12:30pm to 9:00pm. Weekend requirements are approximately 10 per year.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accreditedcollege of pharmacy

• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within90 daysof hire

• CurrentBasic Life Support (BLS)certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Crossandcompletion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course inthe administration of immunizations or certificationobtained within90 days(for individualsrequiredto administer immunizations).

• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or PediatricAdvanced Life Support (PALS)certification through American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross.For caregiversrequiredto respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest, this isrequiredwithin one year ofhire

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Board certification
• Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred
• Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice area (inpatient experience)

Physical Requirements :

• Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
• Must have normal or corrected vision.
• Must have ability toclearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
