Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a pharmacist who will build relationships with patients while ensuring safe, accurate and efficient dispensing of central fill orders.

This role requires adherence to HIPAA and pharmacy policies, with responsibilities spanning immunizations, team mentoring, inventory, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate has a PharmD or equivalent licensure, CPR and state immunization credentials, and up-to-date knowledge of drugs and therapies.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure required with CPR certification.
• Immunization certification/licensing as required by state; NPI.
• Experience range 0–6 months; ability to learn quickly.
• Strong time management and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to build relationships with patients and healthcare partners.

Responsibilities

• Remain informed on new drugs, therapies and developments in the pharmacy industry.
• Adhere to all policies, laws and HIPAA regulations.
• Build professional rapport with physicians, nurses, and other partners.
• Maintain production rates and meet quality expectations.
• Train and mentor new team members when needed.
• Administer immunizations as appropriate.
• Create and maintain a positive work environment for the team.
• Verify accurate replenishment of system canisters with medications.
• Model excellent patient care and safe dispensing practices.
• Quality-check prescriptions for accuracy and proper equipment.
• Address prescription order exceptions and transfers.
• Assist with inventory, ordering products, and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, compliant workspace meeting regulations.
• Perform duties of Pharmacy Manager/technician as required.
• Assist with third-party billing interpretation and paperwork.
• Meet production metrics and participate in CQI meetings.
