Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida seeks a Pharmacist to educate patients and families on proper medication use and to participate in safe, cost-effective therapy across hospital settings. The role includes direct patient care, rounds with the healthcare team, and supervising trainees.

Responsibilities cover pharmacotherapy review, accuracy of orders, and participation in quality improvement, with opportunities to contribute to research and clinical programs. Licensure as a Pharmacist is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD; state licensure required
  • Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred for advancement
  • Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) in the applicable state

  • Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs.

  • Perform all pharmacist functions including compounding, dispensing, verification, and documentation across central, satellite, and IV areas.

Job Description:

Identify, report, and help resolve medication safety events, adverse drug reactions, and errors.

Demonstrate proficiency with EHRs, pharmacy informatics systems, and medication automation to optimize clinical decision support and documentation.

Contribute to professional advancement through practice innovation, research, specialty alignment (e.g., critical care, oncology, infectious disease), committee participation, and scholarly activity.

Perform all pharmacist functions including compounding, dispensing, verification, and documentation of medications across central, satellite, and IV areas.

Review and monitor medication orders and patient profiles to prevent, identify, and resolve drug-related problems; complete pharmacist consults and perform pharmacokinetic dosing, monitoring, and adjustments.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and accreditation activities; track performance metrics (e.g., interventions, error reduction, cost savings).
