Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a Pharmacist to educate patients and care teams on safe medication use, participate in stewardship and rounds, and ensure safe transitions from admission to discharge.

The role requires a PharmD and Florida licensure with 1+ year hospital experience preferred; leadership of technicians and ongoing professional development are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • PharmD degree required for licensure.
  • Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) with active Florida license.
  • Hospital pharmacy experience preferred (1+ year).

Responsibilities

  • Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team on safe medication use.
  • Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs.
  • Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds; ensure smooth transitions of care from admission to discharge and follow-up.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy technicians, interns, and residents; support team learning and development.
  • Identify, report, and help resolve medication safety events, adverse drug reactions, and errors.

Job Description

$10,000 Sign on Bonus available for eligible applicants

Relocation incentive from $5,000 available for eligible applicants

  • Schedule: 7 on/7 off - Wednesday through Tuesday every other week
  • Shift: 14:30 - 01:00 on weekdays/ 13:30 - 01:00 on weekends
  • Educate and counsel patients, families, and healthcare team members on safe and effective medication use.
  • Provide safe, timely, and cost-effective medication therapy; actively participate in stewardship, surveillance, and restricted-use programs.
  • Engage in direct patient care and interdisciplinary rounds, ensuring smooth transitions of care from admission through discharge and follow-up
