Job summary

Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center in Kentucky provides clinical pharmacy services across the hospital and supports staffing in the surgery satellite and central pharmacy as needed.

The pharmacist will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize drug therapy, review orders, educate staff and patients, and document interventions for quality improvement. Kentucky licensure (R.Ph.) and a pharmacy degree are required at hire.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacist must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy at hire.
  • Licensure as a Pharmacist (R.Ph.) in Kentucky required at hire.
  • Ability to work with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services across the hospital.
  • Assist in staffing surgery satellite and central pharmacy as needed.
  • Review, interpret, and evaluate medication orders to identify and prevent drug-related problems.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.

  • Oversee Pharmacy Technician activities to maintain workflow and service standards.

  • Deescalate conflicts between team members when necessary.

Entity: Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center | Department: Pharmacy Inpatient | Work Hours: 80 | Weekend Requirements: As Needed | 1.0 FTE

Job Summary:

Provides clinical pharmacy services throughout the hospital. Assists in staffing surgery satellite and central pharmacy in distribution areas as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets, and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
  • Oversees and coordinates Pharmacy Technician activities as needed to ensure maintenance of a smooth workflow and all service standards are met.
  • Models and helps maintain a professional atmosphere in the Pharmacy aligning with Owensboro Health's Core Commitments.
  • May apply interpersonal skills and techniques to deescalate and/or attempt to resolve the conflict between two or more team members
