By integrating with clinical systems and learning from real patient interactions, Vaalia delivers tailored support where it matters the most to enhance patient care and therapy adherence.

Role Overview

The Clinical Pharmacist will play a hands‑on role in developing and delivering pharmacist‑enabled patient support as part of Vaalia Health’s medication coaching and specialty pharmacy services. This role blends direct patient engagement, clinical perspective, and quality‑focused program development within a non‑dispensing, technology‑enabled care model.

The position is well‑suited for pharmacists who enjoy patient‑facing clinical work, interdisciplinary collaboration, and helping shape new models of specialty care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Management & Clinical Services
  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services as defined within Vaalia’s Patient Management Programs, in coordination with specialty pharmacy partners
  • Engage directly with patients through remote interactions to provide medication education, reinforcement, and adherence support
  • Serve as a trusted clinical resource for patients seeking reliable medication‑ and health‑related information
  • Review patient therapy for potential safety or appropriateness concerns (e.g., therapeutic duplication, drug–drug interactions, documented allergies) and elevate findings as appropriate
  • Monitor for issues that may impact adherence, persistence, or tolerability and coordinate handoffs to pharmacy or provider partners when needed
Clinical & Evidence‑Based Practice
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant clinical guidelines, treatment pathways, and emerging literature to appropriately support patients receiving specialty therapies
  • Apply clinical knowledge to structured assessments and patient interactions within defined scope‑of‑practice boundaries
  • As services evolve, support delivery of select clinical activities under defined protocols or collaborative practice arrangements, where applicable and approved
Quality, Accreditation & Program Development
  • Actively participate in Vaalia’s Clinical and Quality Management activities, including workflow refinement and documentation standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of patient management programs through clinical feedback and collaboration
  • Support specialty pharmacy accreditation preparation efforts, including participation in audits or site visits as requested
  • Work collaboratively with health coaches as a clinical peer, providing subject‑matter expertise without supervisory responsibility
  • Adapt to evolving program needs and contribute to additional responsibilities consistent with the role and organizational growth

  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Tennessee
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain pharmacist licensure in multiple states to support geographical expansion
