Qualifications

  • Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Clinically review all medication orders to ensure safety and appropriateness for patient care.
  • Intervene with health care professionals as needed and document interventions.
  • Enter reviewed orders into the Pharmacy Information System accurately.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns and provide education on safe medication practices.
  • Provide drug information to medical staff and patients upon request.
  • Manage day‑to‑day distribution of all medication types, including controlled substances, IV medication, extemporaneous preparations, repackaged medications, and investigational drugs.
  • Utilize technology required to support pharmacy operations.
  • Serve as liaison between the pharmacy department and health care providers.
  • Maintain professional development, including continuing education and current literature review.
  • Participate in continuous performance improvement and suggest operational enhancements.
  • Complete assigned projects efficiently and on schedule.

Job description

Beverly Hospital is a Level III Trauma Center and not‑for‑profit community hospital located on the North Shore of Massachusetts. The hospital is part of Beth Israel Lahey Health System and provides high‑quality care for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric, including inpatient maternity, psychiatry, neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric services.

The Pharmacy Department serves the Northeast Hospital Corporation, which includes Beverly Hospital, Addison Gilbert Hospital, BayRidge Hospital, and Beth Israel Lahey Health Care Center‑Danvers. Clinical Pharmacists ensure safe, effective, timely, patient‑centered and evidence‑based care, interpret and evaluate medication orders, provide medication expertise to the interdisciplinary team, prepare and dispense medications per hospital policies, supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

HOURS: Evening Shift Pharmacist.

OTHER: Free onsite parking available to all employees. Beverly is accessible via the Commuter Rail.

Pay Range

$58.00 - $78.06 hourly.

Vaccination Requirement
