Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an educational program accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE).
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• One year of professional optometrist experience including examining patients, diagnosing visual disorders, and identifying treatment; residency acceptable as substitute.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary eye care focusing on therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, medical contact lens specialty, and pre/postoperative refractive surgery management.
• Identify systemic problems in addition to ocular issues.
• Diagnose and treat ocular diseases with advanced instrumentation and techniques.
• Monitor ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
• Perform comprehensive/limited visual and ocular examinations across age groups and occupations.
• Supervise and guide optometric interns and students.
• Lead pre-operative evaluation and postoperative management of refractive surgery with staff ophthalmologists.
