Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility required for medical licensure in Florida.
• Active Florida Medical License or University Medical Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ophthalmology medical and surgical services per service rotation and call schedule.
• Educate residents and medical students in the service.
• Maintain high clinical quality, productivity and citizenship within the department.
• Represent the department with clinicians, trainees and staff professionally.
• Develop referral and educational relationships within UM Health System and external practices.
• Develop a regional and national presence as a clinical leader through meetings.
• Develop and fund academic/research activities, including translational research and clinical trials.
• Participate in quality assurance protocols and clinical outcome studies for Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by Chairman or Service Director; may organize CME courses.
• Be willing to see patients at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute satellite locations as needed.
