Job summary

Retina Consultants of Minnesota is seeking a Healthcare Operations Project Manager to support operational, clinical, technology, compliance, and physician initiatives across a premier retina practice. Most work will occur at our Edina, MN headquarters with approximately 5% travel.

You will work directly with executive leadership, physicians, and staff to manage details and drive initiatives to completion, often with destinations defined rather than roadmaps.

  • Experience working with physicians, executives, and staff.
  • Knowledge of EMR workflows and clinical technology platforms.

Responsibilities

Retina Consultants of Minnesota is looking for a healthcare operations project manager with exceptional initiative to help support operational, clinical, technology, compliance, and physician support initiatives across one of the nation's premier retina specialty practices. Most of your work will be done at the practice headquarters located in Edina, MN at the beautiful Centennial Lakes Office Park https://centenniallakes.com/ Minimum travel required (5%).

The successful candidate will be comfortable working directly with executive leadership, physicians, and staff, receiving high-level direction, and independently managing the details necessary to achieve the desired outcome. In many cases, you'll be given the destination, not the roadmap.

What You’ll Do

As a Clinical Operations Manager, you will serve as a key operational resource supporting the Director of Operations Service, physicians, clinic teams, vendors, and technology partners throughout the organization.

Operations & Process Improvement
  • Maintain and improve company Best Practices and operational procedures.
  • Support process improvement and organizational standardization initiatives.
  • Assist with operational projects that improve efficiency, consistency, and patient care.
Clinical Systems Administration
  • Support MDI Healthcare systems and related clinical technology platforms.
  • Assist with EMR workflows, documentation processes, and system-related projects.
  • Coordinate efforts between physicians, staff, vendors, IT resources, and leadership.
MIPS Administration
  • Assist with administration and tracking of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
  • Monitor quality measures, compliance requirements, and reporting deadlines.
  • Support physicians and leadership with quality initiatives and reporting.
Clinical Equipment Administration
  • Assist with administration, implementation, maintenance, and vendor coordination related to:
  • OCT technology
  • Visual field equipment
  • Diagnostic imaging equipment
  • Medical and procedural equipment
Drug Management Administration
  • Assist with pharmaceutical and specialty medication management activities.
  • Support inventory tracking, utilization monitoring, reporting, and vendor coordination.
Documentation & Communication
  • Draft, edit, proofread, and maintain operational, clinical, educational, and training documents.
  • Develop reports, presentations, communications, and project materials for leadership.
  • Support organizational training and educational initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Attributes
  • Strong healthcare experience in retina, ophthalmology, or another related healthcare environment.
  • Experience working directly with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical leaders, or healthcare executives.
  • Advanced knowledge of MDI Healthcare systems preferred, or significant experience with healthcare technology and EMR platforms.
  • Knowledge of retina medications and treatment workflows preferred, or experience with specialty medical treatments, pharmaceutical programs, and clinical operations.
  • Experience supporting quality, compliance, operational, or healthcare technology initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to improve productivity, communication, documentation, reporting, training, and operational effectiveness.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and follow-through.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive projects to successful completion with minimal supervision.
