Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare Inc. is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision of physicians and nurses. The role includes both front office and back office duties to ensure smooth clinic operations.

The ideal candidate will have a medical assistant or nursing assistant credential, 1 year of clinical office experience, and BCLS certification, with CMA accreditation strongly preferred for hire.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program required.
• Two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience if no formal education required.
• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with MA/NA program required.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)–AAMA or similar cert required upon hire; BCLS–Basic Life Support upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of patient care activities under physician/physician extender or RN supervision.
• Assume front office and back office duties as assigned.
• Assist with patient flow, exams, and administrative tasks to support clinic operations.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duty assignments vary and include, but are not limited to front office and back office functions.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. Required or
• In lieu of degree /certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
