Job summary

Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse, following established guidelines and standards. Duties include front office and back office tasks in a medical office setting.

The role requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program or two years of related clinical experience, plus CMA certification and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Nursing Assistant program, or two years related clinical experience.
• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with MA or Nursing Assistant program, or two years of related clinical experience without degree/certification.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from AAMA or equivalent required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of patient care activities under supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with guidelines and standards.
• Duty assignments vary and include front office and back office functions.

Education

High school education required

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Nursing Assistant program

Two years medical assistant or related clinical experience in lieu of formal education
