Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN) for the Intermediate Care / Stepdown unit. The role oversees daily nursing operations, staff supervision, and patient safety during night shifts.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, preferably a BSN, with BLS and ACLS certification, and 2+ years of clinical nursing experience including leadership experience. Sign-on bonus may apply and benefits are comprehensive.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily nursing operations and supervise clinical staff.
• Ensure quality patient care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, workflow, and resource utilization.
• Coach, mentor, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Drive quality improvement and operational excellence.
• Serve as unit leader in the absence of the Director or Nurse Manager.
• Provide direct patient care as needed within RN scope of practice.

Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN) | Nursing Supervisor | Acute Care Hospital | Chicago, IL

Department: Intermediate Care / Stepdown

Schedule: Full Time - Nights |7p-7a| 3-12-hour shifts

Compensation: $36.75–$55.70/hour (approximately $441.00–$668.40 gross per 12-hour shift), commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead daily nursing operations and supervise clinical staff.
2. Ensure quality patient care, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

1. 1. Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
2. 2. Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained.
3. 3. Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.
