Job summary

Ascension is seeking a dedicated nurse to provide advanced direct nursing care in the Ortho Trauma Stepdown unit at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. The role emphasizes expert consultation, program development, and ongoing clinical education to improve patient outcomes.

You will lead education initiatives, manage research projects supporting evidence-based practice, and collaborate with staff to deliver high-quality care across day shifts in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire or transfer date (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Clinical Nurse Specialist or RN credentialing options may be required by hire date.
• Indiana RN licensure or validation prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced direct nursing care in accordance with policies, procedures and protocols.
• Serve as expert consultant for staff in program development, clinical practice and professional development.
• Manage clinical research projects to support evidence-based practice and dissemination of findings.
• Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans and programs; measure learning goals.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and implement teaching programs.
