Full-Time position scheduled five days per week for a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) supporting Trinity Health Ann Arbor. Position will support hospital wide initiatives. The CNS functions as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) within three spheres of impact (i.e. direct patient care, nursing-nursing practice, and organization-system leadership) to integrate care across the continuum. Although each sphere possesses its own distinct focus, the three together are interrelated and contain elements that overlap. The primary goal of the CNS is to promote the continuous improvement of nursing care and patient outcomes. Key elements of CNS practice include the provision of direct care to individuals, groups, or communities through the diagnosis and treatment of health/illness states, disease management, health promotion, and prevention of illness and risk behaviors. As well as creating, through mentoring and system changes, environments that empower nurses to develop caring, evidence-based practices for alleviating patient distress, facilitating ethical decision-making, and responding to diversity.
