Qualifications

  • RN license required.
  • BSN preferred; ADN acceptable if enrolled in BSN program.
  • Critical care or PACU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
  • Educates patients and families on illness/injury, post-treatment home care and medications.
  • Participates in safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Engages in professional development.
  • Develops and documents care plans with the interprofessional team and patient/family.
  • Communicates plan of care across the continuum of care.
  • Uses nursing skills to assess and address physical, psychosocial, emotional and cultural needs.

Join Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MoBap) as a pre-op/post-op/pacu nurse. Bring your critical care or PACU experience to a fast paced, team focused setting.

You will have the opportunity to work in a Magnet recognized hospital in a growth environment with supportive colleagues and leaders.

Position Highlights: Self-scheduling 4/10 hour shifts Minimum 1 weeknight call shifts per 6 week schedule Yearly weekend requirements

2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays (in-house) 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday call shift 0700-1900 2 Friday night call shifts 1 major holiday per year

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center , an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services.

The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Missouri Baptist Medical Center's Surgical Services department consists of 22 ORs which include three heart team rooms and the da Vinci robotic surgical system.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.

Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.

Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Participates in professional development.

Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.

Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.

Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
